The Ayurvedic Period Care Guide

Your period pain is not something your body was designed to “just tolerate.”

You asked for our full Ayurvedic Period Care Guide — here it is, properly. 🌸

🍲 1. Eat warm, not cold (3 days before + during)

Cold and raw foods aggravate Vata — the energy behind cramping. Swap salads and iced smoothies for khichdi, soups and warm sabzi. Sip ajwain or saunf water through the day. Add sesame (til) — 1 tsp of seeds or one til laddoo daily in period week.

🍎 2. Iron + anti-inflammatory plate

Dates (2–3 daily), cooked leafy greens, turmeric in warm milk, and jaggery over refined sugar. These replenish iron lost during bleeding and calm inflammation naturally.

🔥 3. The 10-minute heat ritual (Day 1 & 2)

Warm sesame oil lightly. Massage the lower belly in slow clockwise circles for 3–5 minutes, then rest a hot water bag on the lower belly or back for 5 minutes. Clockwise follows your colon’s direction — it works with your flow, not against it.

🌿 4. Three remedies your nani knew

Ajwain water (1 tsp boiled in a cup, sip warm) for cramps with bloating. Soaked methi seeds (1 tsp overnight, chew in the morning). Haldi + dry ginger in warm milk at night for better sleep on painful days.

⚠️ 5. When it’s more than “normal” pain

Pain that makes you cancel work or college every single month is a signal, not a personality trait. Track two cycles — colour, clots, pain days, mood. Patterns are answers.
